Fall 2021 Screenings - Collaborative Filmmaking & Forms of Resistance

Important Dates

 

***Please note that late submissions will not screen. Please get in touch with the Post team ASAP if you encounter any issues that affect your submission.***

 

 

Forms of Resistance (VM420-02) 

Due Date: Wednesday, December 8th at 9:00am

Screening Date: Monday, December 13th, 2:00-4:00pm 

 

Collaborative Filmmaking (VM336-01) 

Due Date: Wednesday, December 8th at 9:00am

Screening Date: Tuesday, December 14th, 5:00-6:00pm 

 

 

Acceptable Submission Format & Resolution

All submissions should adhere to the following specifications. Other formats will not be accepted.

 

Format: H.264 (.mp4)

Resolution: 1920 x 1080

 

Premiere Exports

If you are exporting from Premiere, your output settings should look like the ours below. Ignore our Frame Rate and select the exact FPS that you choose for your film.

Optional but encouraged: Scroll down and locate the Bitrate settings. Select VBR, 2 pass. This will give the computer a second chance to correct any compression artifacts resulting from the H.264 format. The default values are more than sufficient for our purposes.

How to submit:

 

Upload your file to Google Drive and share it with us at postproduction@emerson.edu

Please include the requested information about your film and be sure to follow our submission format guidelines.

Please be aware that this upload could take a significant amount of time based on your file size and internet speed. We advise uploading the night before to ensure your upload is finished before the 9:00am deadlines. 

If you need to drop off your file in person, please schedule a time to do so with Kieran McKeon before your 9:00am deadline. 

Requested Information:

 

Please include the following information with your submission

  • Class (BA Capstone, BFA, MFA, VM420-02, or VM336-01?)
  • Film title
  • Resolution
  • Aspect Ratio
  • Frame rate
  • Audio (kHz? Stereo, Mono, or 5.1?)

QCs (Quality Control)

Quicktime submissions will not receive a QC in the Bright Family Screening Room. It is your responsibility to watch through your submission file and ensure that it plays through exactly as you expect before submitting.
