Introduction

Adobe Media Encoder is experiencing a permissions problem in the DPL Suites as of Fall 2023. When you launch the software, you may be met with the following error message

"Unable to create workspace folders"

If this happens to you, follow the steps below

Enabling Permissions

Open Finder

Navigate to your Documents folder, then the Adobe folder.

Right click on the Adobe folder and select Get Info from the menu.

At the bottom of the Get Info menu, click the Lock icon

You will be prompted to enter your password.

Under Sharing & Permissions, highlight the line with your account (your name).

The click on the "..." button at the bottom

Select Apply to enclosed items...

Now Adobe Media Encoder should launch normally without an error message.
