For Production
While the camera and audio gear allotted to this class may have various format options, we recommend using the following settings.
Recommended Settings
70D
Internal Video Settings
- 1920x1080 @ 24P (23.98)
- HD: Rec 709 (Picture Profile off)
- Codec: H264
- Chroma Subsampling: 4:2:0
- Bit Depth: 8-bit
Internal Audio Settings
- Set to 48Khz / 16 bits. Linear PCM 2 Channels
FS5
Internal Video Settings
- 1920x1080 @ 24P (23.98)
- HD: Rec 709 (Picture Profile off)
- Codec: XAVC - L (MXF Wrapper)
- Chroma Subsampling: 4:2:2
- Bit Depth: 10-bit
- Bit Rate: 50 Mbps
Internal Audio Settings
- Use XAVC: Linear PCM 2ch, 24bit, 48kHz (Ext Mics via XLR-type 3-pin if possible)

Workshops

Avid Workshop I
In Avid Workshop I, students learn project and file management, importing footage, 4k workflow, basic editing, exporting, and saving their project.
Avid Workshop II
In Avid Workshop II, students learn color correction, effect editing, sound editing, titles, and transitions.
Premiere Workshop
In the Premiere Workshop students learn project and file management, how to properly backup and import footage, 4k workflow, basic editing, exporting, saving, color correction, effect and sound editing, titles, and transitions.
